Subaru Outback (2013–Present) Flat 4 Plug

Modern Subaru Outbacks require a powered wiring module to safely operate trailer lights. We install a plug-and-play harness that integrates cleanly with your vehicle’s factory wiring — no cutting or splicing.

To access the factory connection point, we remove the cargo floor panels and interior trim in the rear of the vehicle.

  • 2013–2019 models: The factory trailer connector is located behind the driver-side interior felt panel. We remove the cargo hook, access the plug, and reposition it properly for connection.

  • 2020–current models: The connector is located under the passenger-side cargo area. We remove the trunk sill and interior fasteners to access the factory plug.

Once connected, we:

  • Securely ground the system

  • Mount the powered converter module

  • Install a fuse for circuit protection

  • Route the 4-flat connector neatly to the hatch opening

Everything is reassembled carefully so the interior looks factory when complete.

This process protects your Outback’s sensitive electronics while giving you reliable trailer lighting — done cleanly and done right the first time.
